Bitcoin is growing at historically rapid rates, growing to value as much as $18,000 for one Bitcoin on 12/7.
By 6:30 p.m. EST on 12/7, one Bitcoin equaled just over $17,000. That's 17 times higher than it was worth in March 2017. But this spike has some experts worried.
Tony Ogorek has been a financial advisor for 30 years. He said he's never seen a bubble quite like Bitcoin.
Ogorek said if you were in during the boom, "you got lucky." But Bitcoin's unpredictability combined with the uncertainty of how the mechanics work lead him to advise people to stay away from jumping in.
