Buffalo Police have found the body of Officer Craig Lehner.
Lehner's body was recovered in the area where officers have searched for five days. More than 15 different agencies aided Buffalo Police in the search, with teams from Canada and New York City.
Buffalo Police divers found his body near Strawberry Island, about two miles from where he first disappeared Tuesday afternoon. A police processional of dozens of cars and motorcycles escorted Lehner's body to ECMC.
Officer Craig Lehner, 34, went missing on Friday, when he did not resurface during a routine training mission with the Buffalo Police Underwater Recovery Team in the Niagara River near Unity Island.
A picture taken by a viewer shows officers lined up along the Black Rock Canal.
The investigation continues into what exactly happened during Lehner's training.
Memorial and funeral information has not yet been released.
