A Buffalo State student passed away Friday after suffering a medical emergency on-campus.

The college says 20-year-old Lillyann Cummings was attended to by University Police officers and emergency medical personnel before she was taken to Buffalo General Hospital Friday morning.  She later died at the hospital. The junior was from Peekskill, New York, and was majoring in chemistry.  Foul play is not suspected in her death.

In a letter sent to the Buffalo State community, school leaders said counselors will be made available to students, faculty and staff.  Campus community members can call 878-4436 if they would like to speak to a counselor, or know someone who might benefit from speaking to someone.

Details about funeral services are not yet available, but a Go Fund Me account has been made to help her family cover expenses.  You can donate here.
