First Niagara is eliminating 150 to 200 jobs as part of managerial restructuring.
A spokesman tells 7 Eyewitness News the positions represent less than three percent of the bank’s total workforce and is part of their strategic investment plan for growth.
According to the spokesman, the cost savings from the restructuring will allow the bank to reinvest in other areas to enhance the customer experience.
Even while these positions are being eliminated, the bank is actively recruiting for more than 200 open jobs.
