The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force (STRDTF) arrested two major cocaine traffickers in the Town of Dunkirk and the City of Dunkirk Tuesday.

STRDTF arrested 26-year-old Michael Pacheco, of Dunkirk, on Vineyard Drive on a warrant from the Town of Dunkirk. Pacheco had more than four and a half ounces of cocaine on him at the time of the arrest.

Authorities say 29-year-old Fred Santiago, of Dunkirk, allegedly made plans with Pacheco to deliver more than an ounce of cocaine to a STRDTF agent in the Town of Dunkirk.

A search warrant was also issued at 80 Lincoln Avenue, where agents seized nearly 30 ounces of cocaine with a street value of $50,000. Drug paraphernalia and $46,000 in cash were also seized during the search.

Pacheco is facing several charges, including Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance. Santiago is charged with Conspiracy to sell a Controlled Substance. Both men are facing additional charges.

The arrests come after a two-month, joint investigation with help from the Town of Evans Police, Town of Hamburg Police, and Drug Enforcement Administration. Agents are expecting more arrests in this case.
