It's been two years since 5-year-old Eain Brooks was beaten to death by his mother's live-in boyfriend.
On Thursday, his family is holding a press conference to push for more money to be given to programs that prevent child abuse in Erie County. Senator Tim Kennedy will join members of Eain's family and local service providers.
They're asking Governor Andrew Cuomo to fund programs that help prevent abuse in Erie County before it happens, rather than only focusing on the response Child Protective Services has after the abuse happens.
The press conference Thursday will take place at 3 p.m. in Niagara Square. It'll be followed by a candlelight vigil at 5:30 p.m.
