City of Tonawanda firefighters fought an overnight fire hampered by heavy winds and hoarding conditions.
Firefighters responded to 131 Delton Street around 12:30 a.m. Monday. They found the entire back of the house engulfed in flames.
Crews were able to advance into the home about 20-feet before being pulled out. Chief Charles Stuart said the crews encountered hoarding conditions and that hampered their ability to get to the body of fire quickly.
The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire and it appears that it was being used for storage. The homeowner told fire officials that he kept a wood burning stove lit in the rear to heat the house.
A fire investigator will determine the cause. The home sustained over $100,000 in damages.
No one was hurt.
