Buffalo firefighters carried a patient 10 blocks to the hospital on snowbound streets Tuesday.
This picture was snapped along Abbott Road. A 7 Eyewitness News viewer says the firefighters carried the patient the whole way to the hospital.

Due to feet of snow dropped on South Buffalo, it was not possible to get in or out of South Buffalo Mercy Hospital by vehicle.
Fire Commissioner Garnell Whitfield told the Associated Press this is actually a common occurrence during the winter in the city, when side streets haven't been plowed yet. Whitfield said members of the fire department "go above and beyond."
The National Guard has been deployed to Western New York to help clear out snow.
