A Genesee County employee collapsed Tuesday while clearing snow outside of the sheriff’s office administration building in Batavia. He later died.

Jay Gsell, Genesee County manager, tells 7 Eyewitness News 56-year-old Jack Boyce, a county highway worker, was using a snowblower when he slumped over it. CPR was initiated and an automatic external defibrillator was used.
First responders arrived quickly, but they were not able to revive Boyce, who was later pronounced dead at United Memorial Medical Center.
His cause of death is still being determined.
