New York Governor Andrew Cuomo today ordered an investigation into white supremacist fliers found in Lewiston.

"As a New Yorker, I was disgusted and offended by the fliers promoting a white nationalist group in Lewiston. These messages contradict all that we stand for as New Yorkers,” said Governor Cuomo in a statement.

Lewiston Police say10 to 20 fliers were left in people’s driveways on Chicora Road, Mohawk Street, and Lower River Road.

The fliers were discovered sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

Police say several versions of the fliers exist: one concerning illegal immigration, one on black on white crime, and one espousing white power ideologies and “White Lives Matter.”

Cuomo said State Police will work with local law enforcement to investigate whether those responsible for distributing the fliers are connected to any bias-related incident in the state.
