A high speed police chase through downtown Buffalo led to arrests and a crash involving a Buffalo police cruiser.
The chase escalated around 9:30 p.m. Monday evening, when at least two vehicles in question were chased near the KeyBank Center, along Michigan Avenue, Main Street, and Washington Street.
The pursuit ended near Washington Street and Huron.
A Buffalo police cruiser collided with a vehicle downtown at Main and West Mohawk Sts, near the metro rail tracks.
Police confirm "a number of suspects" were taken into custody. It's unclear how many people were arrested.
The chase was the result of a call for shots fired on the east side of the city. The situation escalated when New York State Police were trying to pull over a vehicle near Genesee Street and Grey Street, according to Buffalo Police spokesperson Mike DeGeorge.
