The Mega Millions and Powerball are at their highest combined point in history, totally $749 million. Mega Millions topped at $393 million, and Powerball at $356 million with the Mega Millions being drawn Friday night.

The winning numbers for the Mega Millions are: 56 - 23 - 58 - 33 - 53 with a Mega Ball 6.

The odds of winning the Mega Millions is 258.9 million to one, a very slim amount. In fact, you would have a better chance of becoming President of the United States (10 million to 1), winning an Oscar (11,500 to 1), or even becoming an astronaut (12 million to one), than winning the Mega Millions.

The slim chances did not deter buyers from trying their luck at winning a fortune.

"It costs one buck" Lavalle Walker, a regular buyer said.

Due to the fact that the Mega Millions was at an extreme high, Steve Canastraro, a worker at Downtown Trading Company in Buffalo, has seen more people than usual deciding to buy a $1 ticket.

"They're asking how high the jackpot is and I tell them and they say 'well I might as well buy a ticket" Canastraro said.

If you happened to have the winning numbers, return to the store you purchased the ticket from and let the spending begin.

The Powerball jackpot is still growing, and will be drawn on Saturday, August 11th.
