Route 5 reopened after Lackawanna gas station fire

Fire crews were called to a fire at the Excell gas station on Route 5 in Lackawanna around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Firefighters say the fire was contained to a vacant area behind the gas station.

NITTEC reports that Route 5 has reopened between Holbrook Street to Lake Avenue, after briefly closing due to the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
