Lawmaker hands out "Proud to Stand for Our National Anthem" bumper stickers

Posted

Erie County Legislator Ted Morton wants everyone who is proud to stand for the national anthem to show it.  Morton is handing out free "Proud to Stand for Our National Anthem" bumper stickers this weekend.  He says it's in response to the public outrage over NFL players "refusing to stand out of respect during the anthem."

"Millions of men and women fought and died so we can enjoy the privilege of living in the greatest nation in the world," Morton said in a press release.  "We owe it to them to stand up and show our respect and gratitude."

If you want to pick up a bumper sticker, you can get one Saturday, September 30th from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Majestic Pools on Transit Road in Depew.  Morton says if you can't make it, but you'd still like one, you can call 716-391-2845 or email ted@tedmorton.us.

Last Sunday, NFL teams across the country protested during the national anthem following comments made by President Trump.
