DEPEW, N.Y. (WKBW) — A home in Depew is considered a total loss after a fire Thursday afternoon.
According to the Depew fire chief, firefighters were called to the home on Norman Drive around 4 p.m.
Firefighters observed heavy fire conditions and flames extended to a neighboring home and a garage.
The fire chief says the house on Norman Drive is a total loss. Damage to the other home was mainly on the exterior. Five structures were damaged altogether, including the homes and detached garages.
According to fire officials, the wind was feeding the fire, which caused extension to the other properties.
One adult and two children are now being assisted by family members.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but appears to have started in the back of the home.
There were no reports of any injuries.
