AMHERST, N.Y. (WKBW) — Multiple fire departments responded to a fire at the Boulevard Towers Apartments around 10:30 Sunday morning.
The cause of the fire is under investigation but according to officials it appears it was a kitchen fire.
Residents were evacuated and the fire was extinguished by a total of five departments: North Bailey, Brighton, Eggertsville, Getzville and Ellicott Creek.
A single injury was reported, a resident was taken to Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital for evaluation due to smoke inhalation, although it does not appear serious.
The fire inspector estimated the damage to be $70,000 total.
