LANCASTER, N.Y. (WKBW) — Several fire crews in Lancaster worked to put out a fire at a home on Pleasant Avenue Monday evening.

According to a Lancaster fire chief, the house is a total loss.

Fire officials say the homeowner was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. The extent of injuries is unknown at this time.

The fire chief tells 7 Eyewitness News that firefighters were able to save the two neighboring homes.

Lancaster police are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire.

Last week, a fire on School Street displaced a woman and her children.
