LEROY, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Genesee County Sheriff's Office says a small plane crashed at LeRoy Airport just after three o'clock, Sunday afternoon.
Authorities tell 7 Eyewitness News this happened when a plane hit an embankment shortly after takeoff.
According to police, 48-year-old John Yates of Canandaigua, along with his wife and their two children were on the plane at the time of the crash.
All four people on the plane were sent to Strong Memorial Hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries.
Local authorities and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the crash.
