This happened just after 8:30 p.m. on the 400 block of William Street near the intersection of Mortimer.

Police initially reported that a teenage male was struck by gunfire, causing serious injuries. They provided the following additional details in a news conference at the scene just after 11 p.m.

The bullet traveled across William Street into an upstairs apartment, police said, hitting the boy in the head.

The bullet was one of many fired at a car in a parking lot. Another man, 22, was shot multiple times in the vicinity of the car. He was rushed into surgery at ECMC. There was no change in his condition as of Sunday afternoon.

Police have not identified the adult male at this time, clarify whether he was in the car or near it, or divulge whether he was an intended target.

Crime Stoppers and the FBI are offering a reward of up to $12,500 for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call or text the Confidential TIPCALL Line at (716) 847-2255.
