UPDATE: Niagara Falls Mayor Paul Dyster now reports residents in Niagara Falls no longer need to conserve water.

A major water main break was reported on 56th Street, overnight Friday, at the Goodyear Chemical Plant property.

The break has caused a loss of system pressure, affecting all customers within city limits, according to a spokesman for the Niagara Falls Water Board.

It is unclear how many customers are without water.

There are many repair crews on the scene working to fix the break.  They are still trying to figure out the size of the break.

The water board has not said when water would be restored or how long it would take to fix the broken main.
