According to County Commissioner Joseph T. Pillittere, late Monday night a fire started in the Franklinville Highway Barn after an electrical fire in a truck spread to half of the building.
Officials say the truck where the fire started has been destroyed. Four other tandem axle trucks and loader sustained heat and smoke damage.
The Cattaraugus County Department of Public Works had three new trucks they were about to put into service and take three old ones out. But now the old trucks will remain in service.
The 15 barn employees will be temporarily moved to other barns while a new office space is brought to the Franklinville site.
