A car turned into a ball of flames following a crash in Lewiston, killing the driver.
Deputies say around 2 a.m. Saturday, a 911 caller reported an accident at Ridge and Ransomville roads. The caller said the engine compartment was on fire.
When first responders arrived, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters extinguished the blaze and found a man dead inside in the driver’s seat. Sheriff's Deputies have identified the man as 23-year-old Theodore Wishowski of Lewiston.
Deputies say it appears Wishowski was traveling south on Ransomville Road when he failed to stop for the stop sign on Ridge Road. He then went off the road, where his vehicle started on fire.
