Buffalo Police say a man posing as a utility worker invaded a west-end home, tied up a resident, and made off with cash.
The incident happened 3 p.m. Thursday on Normal Avenue.
Police say a man came to the door, told those inside that there was a gas leak, and was allowed in. Once inside, the intruder allegedly tied up and struck one of the occupants of the home. The victim suffered facial injuries and has been treated and released from the hospital.
The suspect is described as a black man, 6'1", 180 lbs and bald. Investigators are looking at the possibility that other people were involved.
Police are asking anyone with any information to contact them.
