"Nuns on the Bus" comes to Buffalo

Posted

A traveling group of 20 nuns made a stop in Buffalo as part of the "Nuns on the Bus" multi-state tour that aims to raise awareness of social justice issues and inclusion.

The nuns are part of a Catholic Sisters inspired education and lobbying group called NETWORK that is pushing for economic policies focused on tax justice, living wages and family-friendly workplaces.

"Nuns on the Bus" plans to visit thirteen states and twenty three cities.

They have taken their message to the Republican National Convention in Cleveland and are now on their way to the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.

As 7 Eyewitness News Reporter Ed Reilly found out, the nuns are not only committed to spreading their message but their efforts are inspiring a shrinking number of local Catholic sisters.
