Liberty Cab has had a record number of requested trips since announcing its free rides to the polls.
"The calls started right at 6 a.m. when the polls opened," said Bill Yuhnke, President of Liberty Cab. "We even received calls last night pre-ordering our service. Early this morning we were receiving between five and ten requests every ten minutes or so."
The cab company is offering the service to anyone who lives in the City of Buffalo and the Town of Tonawanda.
The service is available thanks to a partnership with Liberty Cab Company, Clean Air Coalition and Community Power for Health and Justice, with help from the Canisius College Communication and Leadership Graduate Program.
To request a ride to and from your polling place, call 877-7111 and use the code LibertyRide2Vote.
Liberty Cab asks that customers be patient with operators due to a high volume of calls.
