Three separate shootings kept Buffalo Police busy overnight and claimed the lives of two young men.

The first shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of Jewett Avenue and claimed the life of 20-year-old Darren Rice.

Around two and a half hours later, shots rang out on Locust Street, which is more than three miles from the first scene. Reports indicate that police may also be investigating a stolen vehicle and it’s unclear if anyone was injured in this shooting.

Finally, just before midnight on Tuesday, 19-year-old Tracy Avery died after being shot near Genesee Street and Rodgers. Avery was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The third shooting scene is around three miles from both of the other two shooting scenes. It is unclear if these shootings are related.

There have been 51 homicides in Buffalo so far this year, with only 15 of those cases solved.
