JetBlue to fly direct flights from Buffalo to LA

Posted

Los Angeles isn’t getting Buffalo’s pro-football team, but Buffalo is getting direct flights to Los Angeles.

JetBlue Airways will launch service from the Buffalo-Niagara International Airport to the nation’s second-largest city, starting in June.

New York Senator Charles Schumer made the announcement Monday morning, completing a mission he began three years ago. In 2013, Schumer called for direct service between the two cities, saying the flight to the West Coast would "increase travel opportunities for Buffalonians, and boost Buffalo business travel."

Right now, JetBlue customers flying out of Buffalo must first fly east to get west, making a stop at JFK International Airport in New York City or Logan International Airport in Boston to get to Los Angeles.
