The Jacksonville, Florida-area teen considered a person of interest in the death of his grandmother is now charged with her murder.
Logan Tyler Mott, 15, will be arraigned on a murder charge Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. before State Supreme Court Justice Russell Buscaglia in Downtown Buffalo.
An arrest warrant for Mott on the murder charge was issued Tuesday afternoon.
Mott's extradition hearing - which was supposed to take place yesterday - was postponed until Wednesday because his attorney had a scheduling conflict.
Mott was detained by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents in Buffalo late Friday after he made a U-turn at the Peace Bridge.
Both Mott and his grandmother, 53 year-old Kristina French, went missing on Wednesday after they never showed to pick up Mott's father at the Jacksonville International Airport.
Police later found French's body in a shallow grave in the backyard of Mott's father.
Investigators say Mott drove here from Florida on a learner's permit in his grandmother's car.
