Three cats abandoned in heat now ready for adoption

Imagine being outside for hours on end in 90 degree weather without water or relief from the heat. Well, that's exactly the situation three cats were faced with on Sunday.

Someone crammed three full-sized cats into a cage and left them on the blacktop near a dumpster at the Ten Lives Club in Blasdell.

"Luckily one of our staff members came in and found three cats. One was panting, open mouth breathing," said Allison Kendall the administrator at Ten Lives Club.

The Ten Lives Club is closed on Sunday. Kendall said if it weren't for luck the cats wouldn't have been found until Monday afternoon, which could have put them in a life threatening situation.

"It was over 90 degrees that day," said Kendall. "Panting cats is an outward sign of being overheated a lot like humans with heat stroke."

The cats are Chase, JoJo and Luke. Each of them are healthy, friendly and looking for a new home.

If you'd like to adopt them or any other feline then contact the Ten Lives Club by calling 646-5577.
