Traffic is moving again on Delaware Avenue near the I-290 after a fire involving a police SUV slowed traffic to a crawl.
Town of Tonawanda police say officer Adam Cavarello was on patrol about 1:30 this afternoon when he noticed smoke coming from the dashboard area of his cruiser.
Officer Cavarello was able to pull over, remove some equipment from his vehicle and get a safe distance away from his SUV before it became engulfed in flames.
Police believe an electrical issue sparked the fire.
