A vacant building on Buffalo's West Side will be demolished after a Tuesday night fire.
Fire started on Grant Street just before 10 p.m. Tuesday.
7 Eyewitness News has learned there were concerns someone might have been living in the upstairs apartment.
This was a two alarm fire, meaning there were nearly 60 firefighters working this fire.
Firefighters had credible reports someone might have been inside. They went in, despite heavy fire, to search. No one was found. Firefighters did find evidence there was someone inside at one point.
They believe this fire could be suspicious.
"A vacant building that no one occupies, why wouldn't it be suspicious when it catches fire," questioned Buffalo Fire Division Chief Peter Kertzie. "There's no electric or gas in the building but our investigators will make that determination."
No cause of the fire has been released.
