A Batavia homeowner is down several vehicles and a boat after a fire broke out in his garage late Thursday night.
Fire officials say they were called to the scene on Ross Street just before 11 p.m.
A neighbor noticed the fire and called 911; the homeowner was not aware of it until fire crews arrived.
Crews on scene called for a second alarm almost immediately.
"It was burning for a while probably before we got there, and once we got in there it just took off," said Batavia Fire Chief Dan Herberger.
Herberger said the fire was difficult for crews to reach, calling it "deep-seeded" and "labor intensive." He said he believes the fiberglass boat went up in flames quickly.
The homeowner told 7 Eyewitness News he lost two pickup trucks, two tractors, and the boat in the fire. Fire crews are assessing the garage and all of its contents as a total loss.
