Zipcar's car sharing service is coming to Buffalo State College.
A new partnership was launched Wednesday between SUNY Buffalo State and what's claimed to be the world's leading car sharing network.
The transportation option is now available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for students, faculty, and staff ages 18 and older. The service is also available to members of the local community over the age of 21.
To start, Buffalo State will offer a pair of Ford Focus sedans. The Zipcars have designated parking spots on campus located in Lot G-22 along Grant Street and in Lot R-4 near the center of campus.
Buffalo State members can join this year for $15. Rates for the vehicles on campus starting at $7.50 per hour and $69 a day. After the first year, members will pay a yearly membership fee of $25.
