In celebration of the 100th year of the NHL, the league announced the 100 greatest players Friday in Los Angeles, ahead of the All-Star game.
The Sabres were well represented, with five played selected as some of the best to ever play the game.
Goaltenders Grant Fuhr and Dominik Hasek were selected along with Gilbert Perreault, Tim Horton and Pat LaFontaine.

South Buffalo native Patrick Kane was also one of six current players named as one of the 100 greatest in the league.
Kane, who has helped power the Blackhawks to three Stanley Cups, has 266 career goals and recorded 712 total points since entering the league nine years ago.
Teammates Jonathan Toews and Duncan Keith joined Kane on the list. Alex Ovechkin, Sydney Crosby and Jaromir Jagr rounded out the current players earning the honor.
