Development camp proved to be a new experience for Buffalo Sabres GM Jason Botterill and head coach Phil Housley. Both looked on from the stands as 40 Sabres prospects took part in the four-day long development camp, that concluded on Tuesday.

After the final on-ice session, both Botterill and Housley addressed the media, reminding reporters that it's very tough to gauge a player's performance in a setting like development camp. There are so many variables involved, making this week more about growth off the ice and in the locker room, rather than on the ice.

That doesn't mean the actual hockey isn't important. Both were pleased with how things went and saw progress as the camp continued.
