Buffalo Sabres hire Ralph Krueger as next head coach

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Ralph Krueger will be the next head coach of the Buffalo Sabres.

The Sabres made the announcement Wednesday.

Krueger, 59, has NHL head coaching experience, spending half a season with the Edmonton Oilers in 2012-2013. In 48 games as the Oilers head coach, Krueger finished with a 19-22-7 record. Krueger also served as the head coach for Team Europe in the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.

Most recently, Krueger switched sports, serving as the chairman for the Southampton Football Club in the English Premier League.
