"Obviously it's an exciting time for me and my family, we're definitely looking forward to it," Mittelstadt said. "Obviously to get out here and get a few games in will definitely be fun, kind of get up to the speed of the game and get going."
Mittelstadt, 19, was the Sabres top pick in the 2017 NHL Draft and joins the Sabres after a successful freshman year with Minnesota, where he tallied 30 points in 34 games. On Monday Sabres GM Jason Botterill said if Mittelstadt passes his physical, he'll be in the lineup on Thursday against the Detroit Red Wings.
