Sabres' Eichel joins elite company

127 games.

That's how long it took Buffalo Sabres second year forward Jack Eichel to reach 101 career points. At just 20-years-old Eichel has become the 15th fastest player [20-years-old or younger] since 1987 to reach the 100-point plateau.

The company he now joins is quite impressive. Here's how many points the 14 players ahead of him had after 127 games.

1 -- Sidney Crosby -- 181 points
2 -- Rob Brown -- 151 points
3 -- Eric Lindros -- 146 points
4 -- Joe Sakic -- 131 points
5 -- Connor McDavid -- 122 points
6 -- Patrick Kane -- 115 points
7 -- Jeremy Roenick -- 112 points
8 -- Anze Kopitar -- 111 points
9 -- Jonathan Toews -- 110 points
10 -- Mike Modano -- 108 points
11 -- Jaromir Jagr -- 107 points
12 -- Alex Ovechkin -- 106 points
13 -- Jason Arnott -- 105 points
14 -- Ilya Kovalchuk -- 103 points
15 -- Jack Eichel -- 101 points

In Sabres history only Pierre Turgeon and Phil Housley reached 100 points at a younger age.

Aside from Connor McDavid, no players drafted since 2007 have reached 100 points faster than Eichel.

Since returning from injury on November 29, 2016, Eichel has scored 45 points in 46 games [18G, 27A] and is currently on an 11 game point streak, the second longest streak in the N.H.L. this season behind only Mikael Granlund of the Minnesota Wild [12 games].

The Streak is the second longest in Sabres history only behind Tim Connolly, who had a 16-game point streak in 2009-2010. Ahh, the memories.

Things might not be going well for the Sabres, but Jack Eichel is proving every night that's he the real deal.
