BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Sometimes in hockey the shot differential in a game doesn’t tell the whole story. On Saturday it did as the Colorado Avalanche outshot the Buffalo Sabres 42-18, en route to a 3-0 win. With the loss the Sabres have now dropped four straight games.
Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen scored for the Avalanche while Sabres goaltender Carter Hutton turned away 40 of the 42 shots he faced.
Buffalo now heads home for games on Tuesday and Thursday against the Dallas Stars and Pittsburgh Penguins. The Sabres are currently 30-29-9 on the season.
