Two straight road games, two straight overtime losses.

For the second time this weekend the Buffalo Sabres fell in extra time on the road. Sunday night's loss came to the St. Louis Blues, about 48 hours following a heartbreaking overtime loss to the Chicago Blackhawks.

GAME RECAP:

The Sabres fell behind early after Brayden Schenn shot one past Robin Lehner just 40 seconds into the game. The Blues held the 1-0 lead through one period of play.

The Blues extended their lead in the 2nd period after Paul Stastny was left alone and grabbed one off the wall to make it a 2-0 lead heading to the 3rd period.

The Sabres finally got on the board less than two minutes into the final period after Evan Rodrigues found a wide open net on the power play to cut the deficit in half.

With less than two minutes to play, it looked like the Sabres weren't going to come out with any more chances until Rodrigues scored his second goal of the night to tie things up and force overtime. His second goal gave Rodrigues his 1st career multi-goal game and 2nd career multi-point game.

The Sabres put up a good battle in overtime but with less than 40 seconds left, Vladimir Tarasenko's shot went right off Robin Lehner's stick and into the net to give the Blues the 3-2 overtime win.

WHAT'S NEXT?

With their 2nd straight overtime loss, the Sabres are now 7-17-6 on the season and still sit at the bottom of the league standings with just 19 points.

They're back at home on Tuesday, December 12th when they host Ottawa.
