Sabres fall to Bruins 3-2 in overtime

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Sean Kuraly scored the game winner in overtime as the Buffalo Sabres lost their second straight game following a 3-2 defeat to the Boston Bruins on Saturday night.

With the loss, the Sabres are now 21-12-6 overall with 48 points..

The Sabres struck first in the first period after Marco Scandella notched his second goal of the season. After the Bruins came back and tied it up, Johan Larsson scored his second career shorthanded goal, his fourth goal of the season, to give the Sabres the lead once again. That lead lasted until the final two minutes of regulation when Jake DeBrusk scored on the Bruins power play to send the game to overtime. Kuraly scored the game winner with 1:22 left in the overtime period.

The Sabres return to KeyBank Center on Monday, December 31st for their final game of the 2018 calendar year when they host the New York Islanders. Puck drops at 6 p.m.
