Buffalo Sabres goaltender Robin Lehner didn't mince words when asked about another season without the playoffs.
"I don't think other teams have taken points away from us," Lehner said. "We have taken them away from ourselves and that's what frustrating about this season."
Lehner has played in 57 games this season with a 23-25-8 record. He admits he needs to be better moving forward and says the team needs to simplify their game in all aspects.
"We were up 3-0, 2-0 against some of the best teams in the league and we just found a way to just lose that," Lehner told reporters on Friday. "We have to recognize the problems that we had and we have to move forward and fix it."

This is a little long but check out what Lehner had to say about another year without the playoffs. As per usual, he keeps it real @WKBW pic.twitter.com/CeGVnuWgD9
