Who needs a general manager? On Wednesday the Buffalo Sabres announced that defenseman Devante Stephens has signed a three-year entry level deal.
The Sabres selected Stephens in the fifth round of the 2015 NHL Draft. Stephens spent last season with the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League [WHL] where he scored 13 goals and added 22 assists.
Stephens' 35 points more than tripled his total [2G, 9A, 11P] in 2015-2016.

Bove's take:
Believe it or not, I don't watch many Kelowna Rockets games, but it's nice to see the Sabres organization get younger on the blue line. Stephens had a nice development camp last summer and was one of the players I remember standing out. He'll now have a chance to make his mark at the professional level.
Nice play from #21 Devante Stephens last night - nudges puck and then uses his speed to jump into a lane as Dube (CAL) gets the SHG #Sabres pic.twitter.com/SVAuEnDrUc
