BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A few weeks ago, Dylan Cozens heard his name called at the NHL Draft and walked across the stage. On Monday, he committed to the Buffalo Sabres organization.

Cozens has signed his entry-level contract, a three-year deal.

The Sabres selected Cozens in the first round as the seventh overall pick. He finished last season tied for 10th among all WHL skaters in points. He also ranked in the top 10 in even-strength assists and even-strength points.

Cozens took part in Sabres Development Camp in late June but wound up hurting his thumb. He later had surgery and will be sidelined for a few months.
