In less than two weeks the NHL and Adidas will unveil the 31 jerseys for the upcoming season. On Monday, some of the NHL teams, including the Buffalo Sabres, tweeted out a picture teasing the 'big' reveal.

To the dismay of many, the picture appears to show a jersey with a similar shade of navy blue to what the Sabres have been wearing permanently since 2010. Last month, SportsLogos.net reported that the Sabres were one of the teams that would have some sort of cosmetic jersey change when the new sweaters were revealed.
First look, Sabres draft hat. (hint, they're not royal blue) pic.twitter.com/wADpRIROFh

That, of course, could still be the case -- but judging from the picture, it doesn't appear the change(s) will have anything to do with the current color scheme.
That being said, the Sabres will likely unveil a special jersey that they'll wear in the 2018 Winter Classic when they take on the New York Rangers at Citi Field. In 2020-2021 the Sabres will celebrate their 50th anniversary, so maybe, just maybe, they could revert back to a shade of blue similar to what they wore when they took the ice for the very first time in 1970.
Can we all agree how gorgeous the #Sabres jerseys would be if they went back to a lighter shade of royal blue? @WKBWhttps://t.co/awlBJo3ut2
