WASHINGTON (WKBW) — 60 minutes weren't enough for the Sabres and the Capitals again. 65 minutes weren't enough either. This time, though, Jack Eichel's shootout goal lifted Buffalo to a 4-3 win over Washington.
All three Sabres goals in regulation came on the power play. Defenseman Colin Miller scored his first goal of the season in the second period. Forwards Eric Staal and Victor Olofsson picked up Buffalo's other two tallies.
All three of Victor Olofsson's goals so far this year have come with the man advantage. At the other end, Linus Ullmark made 28 saves. He also stopped all three Capitals shootout attempts.
The Sabres move to 2-3-1 on the year with the win. They return home to host the New York Rangers on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
