There's no debating the Sabres and their fans have been through highs and lows of waiting out of the NHL Draft Lottery.

They had the best odds to secure the No. 1 overall pick in 2014 and again in 2015 after finishing last in the league standings.  They ended up with drafting second in both years.

This past season, Buffalo finished 26th with a 33-37-12 overall record.  They had a 7.6 percent chance to secure the top spot in the 2017 draft...it didn't happen.

It marks the second straight year the Blue & Gold will draft eighth.

In 2016 Buffalo selected Alex Nylander with the eighth pick.   They also picked No. 8 in 2013, landing defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen.

Here is the full order of the top 15 picks for the 2017 NHL Draft, which begins on June 23.
