The Buffalo Sabres entered Saturday night with the best odds at winning the NHL Draft Lottery.
They ended the night with the first overall pick.
The Sabres are on the clock as they will select first in the upcoming 2018 NHL Draft. It's the third time in franchise history that the Sabres own the top pick.
Carolina will select second overall while Montreal will select third.
Buffalo ended the 2017-2018 season with a 25-45-12 record where they became the first team to finish in 31st place following the addition of the Las Vegas Knights.
