Carter Hutton had plenty of options this summer.
So what's the biggest difference between "starting" and serving as the "backup"? I've always wondered and today we had a chance to ask new #Sabres goaltender and projected starter Carter Hutton @WKBW pic.twitter.com/da6FA9p7yE

After talking things over with his family he decided the Buffalo Sabres were the perfect fit.
Hutton, 31, has started 114 games in his six-year NHL career. Despite tallying 63 wins, Hutton has never been given an opportunity to be the clear-cut opening night starter. This year with the Sabres, he's expected to carry plenty of the load and he couldn't be more excited.
"I think we can do a lot, we have a lot of young talent, a lot of young players," Hutton told 7ABC. "I think it is one of those things that there is a little bit of unknown with some young kids that will get a big chance to play here. If they can come in and play well for us I think the potential is very very high. The way that everything is run here, it is a top-notch organization and I am proud to be a part of it and excited to kick things off here this week."
One of the most candid answers from our one-on-one with Carter Hutton. I asked why he believes the #Sabres can go from the worst team in hockey last season to a team that can make the playoffs @WKBW pic.twitter.com/fPh8M08i2U
