In February of this year, Alex Breddy, a 9th grader at East Aurora, suffered a spinal stroke while vacationing with his family in Florida.
Alex, who loves hockey played on the Southtowns Stars Bantam team as well as the East Aurora H.S. Junior Varsity team.
Unfortunately, the stroke has left Alex paralyzed from the neck down and unable to breathe on his own. Alex spent about a month in a hospital in Florida before being transferred to St. Shepard's Hospital in Georgia.
The "Alex Strong" Fundraiser in Honor of Alex Breddy is Saturday, June 4th from 4-11 p.m. at the East Aurora Ive Rink.
The fundraiser is $20 for adults and $10 for children under 12. It includes food, drink, games, basket raffles and more.
